Was Uriah Faber There to Fight?
Uriah Faber vs Mike Brown II
I just kept watching and wondering how Faber could step into the ring with what seemed to be NO GAME PLAN! It looked like he had become so accostomed to overpowering people that when faced with someone who matched his power he was unable to enforce his typical ground and pound victory.
The WEC really had a lot riding on Uriah and they had to be watching with disgust as Faber repeatedly attempted the same tactics that had no effect on Mike Brown. I’ve seen this from boxers who somehow managed to show no urgency when the only way they were going to win the fight would be on a knock out. Yet they just keep circling and throwing jabs…
Mike Brown handled Uriah like an unruly child. He deserves some respect. His all around game reminds me of some of the great well rounded fighters in the UFC.
I just can’t get over Faber repeatedly flailing at Brown with absolutely no success. Faber resembled an aging champion who just wants one more paycheck but has long since lost his heart.
Uriah was an exciting fighter once apon a time…let’s hope that guy returns sometime soon… until then…
Uriah Faber you are The Daily Suck
LaBron James’ Stupid, Stupid, Stupid Words
Labron you ARE…
The Daily Suck
He loses and doesn’t want to shake anyone’s hand and then followers it up with why it’s okay for him not to shake anyone’s hand when he loses. I’m not like everyone else on this band wagon.
I don’t care that he didn’t shake somebody’s hand.
What annoys me A LOT is that he’s been shaking hands for a long time. He didn’t make a decision to stop, he reacted. I can respect a man when he decides he’s not going to do something because he’s thought about it and made a decision.
When I was in High School I played basketball… there was a kid that played for North High that refused to shake my hand all 5 (or was it 4?) times we played them. He didn’t like me. He thought I played dirty (I did!) The first time I was a little annoyed. But after he kept doing it… it didn’t bother me at all.
Now if LaBron continued to NOT shake hands for the rest of his CAREER whenever he LOSES then I he will be okay by me. Oh, everyone else will go insane so you can be sure that won’t happen but that would be a great band-aid for me.
Who thinks LaBron is going to go his whole career not shaking hands?
I read a great article here… Wojo Column
See you next time, boys.
Nadal’s Winning Streak
Why can’t Nadal’s Winning Streak die with the calm and goodwill that Nadal himself did?
Who are these people who keep thinking that this Winning Streak do something special and spectacular. This is sports… just as LaBron found out. Anything can happen.
That’s why they’re great!
Here’s to Nadal who was amazing throughout the match. He is spectacular. A true hearted champion. The way he lost showed what kind of champion he is.
And here’s to Nadal’s Winning Streak… The Daily Suck.
Carmelo Anthony… (Shut up, Larry!)
Game 6 LA Lakers over Denver Nuggers… (to win the series)
Hmmmm… I almost gave it to him earlier in the series. Why, you might wonder? It isn’t because he’s struggled in this series, at least compared to his play in the previous two series.
Melo is the focal point of the scoring for this Denver Nuggets team. I know Chauncey is the leader but this kid can really put the ball in the hole. He’s six nine… basically the size of Larry Bird. Bird never had this kind of quickness. Few players his size has. But he has a great instict for getting to the bucket.
But, he reacts like a small child, on the court. When things are going his way he has this, “I told the world I’m the best” look. And when it’s not he has an array of faces that express his childish feelings.
Not fair, not fair, not fair.
When he didn’t get the calls he became poison to the team with his “all about me” attitude. Maybe an off season with Chauncey will help. He’s certainly made great strides since the beginning of the season. But I think that winning has masked some of it.
Notice that great players are ALWAYS stoic. They might smile or express some displeasure from time to time but for the most part… they don’t express their emotions.
Melo… you’re “The Daily Suck”
College Basketball… You Suck!
D. Rose is going to be blamed for taking advantage of something? This system is very entertaining because it struggles to levy fines that won’t really hurt the whole dark process going on.
I don’t mind who pays for what and who gets what just so long as it doesn’t interfere with me watching college basketball.
Who isn’t tired of hearing about “scandals” when nothing happens to anyone and hardly anyone is every punished. I don’t want Calipari to be punished, I like watching his very well coached teams (full of great talent!) but I would rather he was getting hammered instead of me just being hammered with useless “actions” by the NCAA.
(yawn) I think I’ll take a nap, and hopefully when I wake up the allegations will have passed/been forgotten/escalated to life and death.
College Basketball you are The Daily Suck.
Magic Mired by Mystifying Mistake
Again?
Again with the “Let’s play LeBron 1-on-1″ and see what happens? I mean really? I can’t get over this. This guy seems to have some kind of pit bull mentality that works most of the time so he sticks with it.
4 seconds left in the game… let’s do single coverage WITHOUT help? I mean, does that kind of defense ever work? I can understand not leaving Mo because he hits big shots as well, but coming over from a center, well, I’ll take the center lofting a 3 pointer to win it over LaBron taking single coverage to the basket (getting fouled and hitting the throws to tie it up) any day.
Stan, you won a lot of games this year so you get some latitude but I don’t like your decisions so you’re still The Daily Suck.
That said, I really loved this game. The playoffs have been fantastic! I like all the stories involved. Chauncey in Denver, Kobe, LaBron, and then the Orlando Magic (as a team.) Don’t start in with ‘Mello talk… he would be the daily suck but his team won. Come on. When the going gets tough “Mello starts complaining to the refs, making faces (there should be a YouTube Video about his silly faces) and the all around bad play of Anthony.
Don’t talk to me about that guy. It’s “Smitty” and Chauncey making the big plays.
‘Nuff said!
“Lady D, Take Your Seat,” the Lakers Announced Monday
There’s something very charismatic and debonair going on in L.A. I don’t know if Hollywood is involved, if there’s a movie in the works or if it’s just something that developed but it’s there, in the lights, for all the world to see.
The Lakers lead Lady D to a seat in the crowd with a nice seat cushion and a big foam finger that says “Lakers World Champions ’09″ which she waves with the best of them.
Kobe and company, worrying about your offense leaves your defense in the stands. For that and the pathetic show you put on last night…
You are The Daily Suck!
You remind me of those guys that stand in front of the mirror for 20 minutes! Get over yourself and get in the trenches and play some defense! Lady D wins championships…
I never thought I would say that I’m tired of Kobe taking over games and putting a dagger into the heart of the other team… I mean, I’m a fan of any top notch death dealer, but when a guys trying to “take over” with 10 minutes left? Hello? No one “takes over” for 10 minutes. If he doesn’t get his team into the game on offense they are never going to get into the game on defense. Kobe, get your head out of your (rectum) and pick up your TEAM!
Jose Conseco: Juiced Baseball Bad Boy Gets Beat Down!
Jose Conseco… congrats for being on The Daily Suck!
In 1988 he was the best baseball player in the world. In Japan he was an old man, juiced up but still pretty pathetic. He was on the card to fight a 7 foot 2 inch Goliath called Hong Man Choi. But Jose (our David) had nothing but a few kicks to even make this resemble a MMA (mixed martial arts) bout.
Instead, when Canseco was knocked off balance, the huge Choi jumped on him and beat him with a flurry of punches… ending in a tap out.
Most of the punches didn’t even land. But I’m sure even a few of those were enough to send the American League MVP into a fetal position of fear.
This guy… can we send him back any time soon?
New York Jets Bad Boy Gets Nice New RAPE Charge!
The big Jersey Police Department – sent Kerry Rhodes of the New York Jets a little thank you note for the rape that allegedly occurred in his Jersey town house.
Rhodes, in typical pro athlete fashion, issued a release saying he wasn’t accused. Yeah, if you’re friends with dirt bags… guess what?
You’re a dirt bag.
Here’s part of his statement… “I briefly talked with police on Saturday regarding an incident that allegedly took place at my home. The police confirmed to me that I am not the subject of this allegation.”
Oh, the Jets are gathering information… after all they might need to swoop in and seize his funds ala Michael Vick. He just signed a $30 million smackers a year contract… after all.
I bet Louisville (his alma mater) is really proud to have him as an alumni.
Congrats, Kerry, you’re the Daily Suck.
